We are celebrating some of our awesome team members this month. To kick things off, Rosanna will be celebrating her birthday in a few days on the 9th! If you see her at your next appointment, make sure to wish her a happy birthday. Then, next week from the 11th-15th, it is Dental Hygienist Week, and we will be celebrating our two dental hygienists, Melissa and Lucie. And finally, even though Dot is no longer at Twohig Dentistry, her 50th wedding anniversary is this month. Congratulations, Dot, we are so happy for you!
We will also be celebrating Oral Cancer Awareness month in April. Oral Cancer is very serious and if not caught early may lead to more severe outcomes. To prevent oral cancer, refrain from tobacco use, consume alcohol in moderation, wear sunscreen on your lips, and get vaccinated for HPV if you are eligible.
Symptoms may be easy to spot so if you are experiencing lip or mouth sores that do not heal, growth or lump inside your mouth, or mouth pain and ear pain, as well as difficulty, swallowing, we suggest that you reach out to our team to get checked.
We also screen patients for oral cancer at every hygiene exam, so feel free to bring up any concerns you may have with your oral health. The most common places for oral cancer are under the tongue and on the lips.
If you are looking to schedule an appointment, please give us a call and we will go ahead and work with you on finding a suitable appointment time. We do ask that all of our patients continue to wear their masks in the office for the safety of everyone.
